Customized $350

Customized package is the same package as the ultimate, but if we don't have your theme in our inventory, then we can make it happen. We will let you pick your own backdrop design to match your child's  theme and get it ordered for your session.

Cake Smash/1st Birthday Investment

The first birthday is one of the biggest milestones. It’s after this first birthday that your little one is entering the toddler stage. In fact, it’s one of the last big milestones of your baby before he enters the next phase of his little life. Whether it’s a cake smash with a bubble bath or the first birthday session with decorations, this is the time that you won’t want to miss.

  • The cake is included with your session as a courtesy. We provide this service to you, to help a mom out, so she doesn't have to juggle placing the order, picking up the cake, and hauling the cake to the session. If your child has food allergies, for the safety of your child, we ask that you provide your own cake. If so, please let us know. 

  • To include family in your session, an additional $30 family fee rate will apply. This is for one child only. However, for best results, it is recommended that they be booked separately. As babies/toddlers attention only last for a brief time. 

  • If you choose a studio session, we have a large selection of backgrounds to choose from.

  • We highly recommend a studio session over an outdoor session for this age, because of the following reasons. However, you know your child best, 

    • Outdoor sessions are only scheduled in the evening with the setting of the sun, about 1 hour before sunset for best lighting.​

    • Studio sessions can be scheduled anytime.

    • Most babies are happiest during the morning hours or right after their afternoon nap time. 

    • Due to the late schedule in the day for outdoor sessions, from my many years of experience, most babies are tired and not as happy that late in the day.

  • If you have a themed session in mind, and we do not currently have a matching backdrop, we can completely customize your session for you with the purchase of the Ultimate package to match your theme. For a customized session you will need to book at least 4-6 weeks prior to your session date, to ensure we can get the backdrops and props delivered in time for your session, and pay 50% of the session fee when booking. We can do small customized sessions with no additional charge for the deluxe and premium package, such as balloon arch backgrounds, etc. 

  • With all sessions you will have the option to purchase additional images.

  • For on location sessions, the first 30 miles are included in your session. After 30 miles, a travel fee will apply. 

  • If your child has allergy issues of any kind or sensitive stomach issues, for the safety of your child we ask that you provide your cake or choice of food for your cake smash session. If so, please let us now of your child's food allergies.

 

To schedule your session, there is a $50 non-refundable retainer fee required up front when booking. The non-refundable retainer fee is to book/hold your session date and is applied towards the total cost of your session.

Due to our very busy schedule, with both our small photography business and family life, our typical turnaround time averages about two weeks (three weeks for peak season of Spring and Fall), so be sure to book your date in plenty of time to get your pictures back for when you need them by.

Cake Smash Prep Instructions

We will have the cake ready for you at your session that matches your theme. If your child has food allergies, for the safety of your child, we ask that you provide your own cake. If so, please let us know.

​

I typically recommend bringing two outfits that matches your background/theme. One for the pre-cake portion and one for the smash cake portion. Make sure the one for the cake smash portion, is one you don't mind getting dirty and possibly stained by the icing if the baker makes a matching cake with colored icing (this is only with red or blue icing on light colored clothing, but soaking it in oxyclean will typically get in colored icing out).

For splash baths at the end of the cake smash session (this helps get all the cake off them and is usually the child's favorite part, as most babies/toddlers love bath time), you can choose to do birthday suit, or if feel more comfortable, bring a bathing suit or clothing that is suitable for baths that will cover them up for pictures. For Splash baths, only the waste up will show in pictures.

Do a practice run at home with a tiny cake for two reasons. To ensure baby is not allergic to any ingredients in cake or icing. Also, babies who eat cake before their session will do much better at the cake smash session. Babies who never have cake before their session, will not typically touch the cake. The icing is a new feel and not all babies are on board the first go around.

Bring their sippy cup with drink in it, to help wash down the cake. 

​

Sometimes babies are not fond of cake (most babies love it, so it does not happen very often), but we ask that you bring their favorite snack to hide behind the cake in case your child is one of the few that do not want to eat or touch the cake. This helps them get closer to the cake for pictures.

​

Bring their favorite toy, book, song, or video on your phone to help with smiles if needed. I do not have good internet where I am located, so for any videos, make sure you download them on your phone, and you do not have to access by internet.

​

Lastly, make sure your child is well rested. This is an important step to ensure a happy session. If babies are tired, they are typically not into taking pictures and will not be performing at their best.

​

Due to our busy schedule as a small business owner, please do not arrive no earlier than 15 minutes prior to your session.
